RIP #RegECathey. So untimely, esp given his post-#HouseOfCards resurgence. Boy, was he great on #TheWire… & Henrietta Lacks (going toe-to-toe with #Oprah!)… & so many other things. One of the greatest voices the cinema had to offer.

Beach Rats

#BeachRats: Wonderfully delicate, spare, haunting, tough-edged slice-of-life, "neo"realistic little film that deserved to have been celebrated with the very best of Indie Film from last year. Eye-watering DP-ing by Louvart (16mm!). Dickinson - a *star* is born - my goodness!!!

RIP Roger Bannister

RIP #RogerBannister. Hallowed name / GK answer for us back in school, up there with the likes of Hillary/Tenzing. His accomplishment has to be up there in that kind of rarified air, right? Apparently, the #FourMinuteMile was only *one* of the things he did…what a remarkable life

RIP #DavidOgdenStiers. Loved him on #MASH, great actor, deadpan funny. He laid groundwork for #KelseyGrammer's onscreen persona, something #Frasier  brilliantly meta-explored in Fathers and Son. Quality working actor for almost 50 years…that's quite a run!

Red Sparrow

#RedSparrow: F-Law's a heckuva stylist and makes a valiant attempt to enter ice-(*brutal*ly)-cold #Fincher-Land. Hard to imagine anyone but #JLaw in her role, & Schoenaerts is great (again). Masterclass in adaptation by Haythe sanding down the book into mainstream entertainment.
