So, Jeff Wells, my favorite slight-chavinistic-and-very-cantankerous movie blogger has reversed his earlier negative impressions of Beowulf and is now saying that it's:[A]n exceptional film on its own terms, but the 3-D version I saw last night is, no exaggeration, something close to stupendous.
Maybe you should check it out after all.
