Greg Norman Will Break Your Heart

I don't believe it!

There's Greg Norman, all of 53 years old, actually leading the Open Championship (a.k.a. the British Open).

And no, that's not a typo, it's not the Senior British Open.

Pretty cool, huh?

Norman, of course, has been in the news recently for his recent marriage to Chris Evert (yes, that Chrissie Evert) and the resulting $103 million (yes, that's million...$103 million) settlement awarded to his ex-wife.

But now, after playing hardly any golf at all, he's back in the news for his play.

The only golf tournament I ever watched from beginning to bitter end was the 1996 Masters. Yes that Masters...and have never watched a tournament in its entirety since.

For me, back in 1986, back when I didn't fully comprehend who Jack Nicklaus was, it wasn't the Masters That Jack Won, it was the Masters That Greg Lost...or the Masters That Seve (Ballesteros) Lost (my two favorite golfers, ever!).

Anyways, here we are, back in 2008, 15 years after Norman's last Major title (the 1993 Open). And he's in the lead.

And of course, he is going to break your heart.

But until then, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy watching an old warrior rediscover his winning ways and ever-so-briefly remind us of what might have been.
