Indians - They Read Magazines Just Like Us!
Wow, an article on India in the New York Times, and it's not by Somini Sengupta...which means it probably won't be quite as slanted as usual.
Apparently American magazines have become popular in India (imagine that, Western pop culture being consumed in third world countries, how novel!), but there is a twist. These are the "Indian-ized" versions of such popular rags as Rolling Stone, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, etc.
In the beginning advertisers were slow to embrace this trend, so they toned things down. Now, by all accounts, some of the features have actually become racier than what they run in the US.
Maxim, bless their tasteful heart, recently had cover story called "48 Ways to Get a Gori" ("Gori" being the tasteful slang for a white chick).
Way ahead of you on this one fellas...

I inclination not concur on it. I over warm-hearted post. Specially the designation attracted me to review the unscathed story.
